According to data released by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, there are currently 66 transport airlines in my country, including 13 all-cargo airlines.

Because the airlines referred to by the Civil Aviation Administration of China are actually companies with independent legal personality.

However, according to Yige statistics, some of the airlines do not have independent carrier qualifications and use the carrier qualifications of the parent company, such as:

Zhuhai Airlines, Guizhou Airlines, Shantou Airlines, Henan Airlines under China Southern Airlines, Wuhan Company, Jiangsu Company under China Eastern Airlines, etc. Although China Eastern Yunnan Company has independent carrier qualifications, they all use the two or three-character codes of China Eastern Airlines.

Therefore, from an independent carrier and unified code perspective, there are actually 45 passenger airlines in the country.

In addition, there are 13 cargo airlines. Since Youhe Daotong is in bankruptcy and no longer operates, 12 airlines are counted.

As a result, there are actually 57 domestic airlines (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan).

It should be noted that this is a statistical analysis of individual airlines, divided from the perspective of unified fuselage logos and flight codes used.

In fact, from the perspective of the four major aviation groups, such as China Southern Airlines Group, the data includes Xiamen Airlines, Jiangxi Airlines, Hebei Airlines, and Chongqing Airlines. (For data on the fleets of the four major airlines, please see Yi Ge’s previous article)

For example, airlines with less than 20 aircraft have almost no room for development!
