The Special Conditions for EHANG EH216-S Unmanned Aircraft System (SC-21-002) have been officially issued by the CAAC on February 9, 2022, and the special conditions have come into effect since the date of issuance. According to the Special Conditions, the aircraft of eH216-S unmanned aircraft system can fly automatically in the whole process according to the pre-input flight plan, and the remote crew can carry out manual command and control flight of the aircraft by using the data link of commercial mobile network in emergency state, and is expected to fly in low-altitude isolated airspace. Primarily for commercial passenger transport operations in urban air traffic (UAM) environments.
It is reported that EH216-S unmanned aircraft System (EH216-S) model Certificate (TC) application was submitted by EHANG Intelligent Equipment (Guangzhou) Co., LTD to the Department of Airworthiness of Civil Aviation Administration of China on December 28, 2020. In January 2021, the Department of Airworthiness accepted the project with the number NATC0102Q. Eh216-s is an unmanned aircraft system that can be used to carry people. At present, civil Aviation Administration has not issued airworthiness regulations for this type of aircraft system. In accordance with the requirements of article 21.17(II) of CCAR-21-R4 "Civil Aviation Products and Parts Qualification Requirements", special conditions shall be formulated to determine airworthiness requirements suitable for their specific design and intended use and with acceptable safety level.
