[Civil Aviation] On November 25, 2021, Leonardo signed a purchase contract with Beijing General Aviation Corporation for two AW189 helicopters,
marking the official entry of Aguste AW189 twinengine helicopters into the Chinese market. The first AW189 will be delivered to the Beijing Police Aviation Corps
(Beijing Police Aviation) of the Beijing Public Security Bureau in the first half of 2022, and the second is scheduled to be delivered in the first quarter of 2023, for
emergency management tasks such as police law enforcement, search and rescue, and fire fighting in the Capital metropolitan area and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
Beijing Police Aviation has 3 AW139, 3 A109E and 1 AW109SP in operation. The newly added AW189 has more powerful commercial and range performance, and is equipped
with various mission equipment including search lights, rescue winches, tactical radio, weather search radar, cargo hooks and embedded parts of professional fire fighting equipment.
Further enhance the Beijing Police aviation law enforcement and emergency management mission capacity. With the delivery of two AW189, Beijing Police Aviation will become the
largest police aviation team in China by relying on nine August police law enforcement helicopters, and as a pioneer of China's police aviation construction, successfully incorporated into
the newly established emergency rescue system of the Ministry of Emergency Managment.
The AW189 has received more than 100 orders from around the world and more than 80 have been delivered to support police law enforcement, firefighting, search and rescue, medical evacuation, disaster relief, passenger
transport and energy industry commuter flights. The choice of the world's leading public services, rescue operators and offshore oil transport operators, the AW189 not only meets the latest airworthiness certification and
safety standards, but also offers the perfect combination of long range, wide cabin space and cost-benefit ratio compared with heavy helicopters of the same or larger tonnage.
