But some planes have been forced to land outside Russian territory by the time the airspace is closed. The lessor then impounded the aircraft to avoid "chicken flying". One of them, a Boeing 777-300ER belonging to Norwind Airlines, registration number VP-BJP, belongs to the Aircastle Group and is being held at Mexico City airport.
